Clinical Fellowship – Dr. Catharina Espuelas, Scholarship Recipient from the University of Zurich
From September to December 2025, Fundación Apolonia highlights the successful clinical fellowship carried out in Chile by Dr. Catharina Espuelas, a specialist in Restorative and Reconstructive Dentistry from the University of Zurich, who visited the country through a scholarship granted by our institution.
During her stay, Dr. Espuelas developed an outstanding academic and clinical program focused on knowledge exchange and the advancement of dental education. In this context, she delivered lectures and academic sessions at Clínica Odontológica San Sebastián, where she shared her clinical and academic expertise with dental professionals.
She also visited the Postgraduate Program in Oral Rehabilitation at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, where she engaged in valuable exchanges with faculty members and residents, further strengthening academic ties and international collaboration.
In addition, Dr. Espuelas participated in Swiss Innovation Week, an event organized by the Embassy of Switzerland in Chile, fostering opportunities for networking and innovation among professionals, academic institutions, and representatives from the scientific and technological sectors.
As a central component of her visit, Dr. Espuelas completed a three-month clinical fellowship at Clínica Odontológica San Sebastián, where she actively collaborated with dentists and dental laboratory technicians, contributing her expertise and knowledge in the field of dentistry.
This initiative reflects Fundación Apolonia’s commitment to promoting continuing education, international knowledge exchange, and the strengthening of professional networks that contribute to the advancement and excellence of dentistry in Chile.
